IHS Metals Recycling is seeking an experienced crane operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a crane to lift, move, and position loads in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have experience operating cranes in a variety of settings, including construction sites, warehouses, and industrial plants. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of safety protocols.

Role
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer’s instruction
• Perform pre-shift safety inspection on the vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories to ensure no damages or malfunctions to the equipment
• Report needed repairs to supervision
• Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment
• Assist with operation of other equipment as needed
• Adhere to OSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations
• Perform duties with minimum supervision
• Perform routine maintenance on crane
• Load and unload materials from crane
• Communicate with other workers to ensure proper placement of materials.
• Helps unload customer vehicles, loads trailers, roll off boxes, keeps the yard clean, identifies & buys ferrous & non-ferrous materials, runs forklift, etc.
Qualifications
• Must be able to work possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed
• Must be able to read equipment operating manual
• Must be able to complete pre-shift inspection report
• Must be able to read and interpret gauges
• Must be able to wear all required safety equipment
• Must have the physical abilities to perform the daily functions
• Ability to operate a magnetic grapple is a plus
