IHS Metal Recycling is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to take a hands-on approach to maintaining heavy equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on equipment and machinery with little supervision.

Responsibilities
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment and machinery
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure top performance and to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and diagnose all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Remove and replace parts of hydraulic systems and tool attachments (shears, forks, grapples)
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
• Ability to weld or fabricate parts as needed
• Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
• Sense of urgency to prevent extended period of downtime
• Work together as a team to ensure equipment and machinery are up and running in a cost-effective manner

Qualifications
• 5 or more years’ experience in industrial maintenance
• Strong mechanical skills
• Experience maintaining OSHA and EPA regulations
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems including excavators and heavy equipment
• Experience with rail cars is a plus
