IHS Metal Recycling is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to take a hands-on approach to maintaining heavy equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for assuring that the facility and production equipment are properly maintained and designed to safely perform specified tasks in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities
• Provides leadership and direction for both locations maintenance and engineering functions
• Maintain all machinery throughout the yard and warehouse
• Maintain inventory and ordering of replacement parts
• Schedule and meet servicing deadlines for all equipment
• Communicate job expectations and train/coach employees
• Ability to prioritize and manage in a cost-effective approach
• Sense of urgency to prevent extended period of downtime
• Determine staffing levels and assign workload
• Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices

Qualifications
• 5 or more years’ experience in management, preferably in a heavy machinery metals environment
• Experience maintaining OSHA and EPA regulations
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems including excavators and heavy equipment
• Experience with shears and balers preferred
• Experience with rail cars is a plus
• Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and one-on-one communication with employees
• Must be able to move around yard and assist employees with heavy lifting when necessary
