When you work for IHS Metal Recycling, you are joining a family who has been in the business of recovering recyclable materials for four generations.
Started in 1924 by two brothers just looking to make a living with what they could carry in a cart, IHS Metal Recycling is now one of the nation’s largest scrap metal recyclers with over 550 employees — and growing. Our facilities include automobile shredders, balers, shears, mobile shearing, torch processing, auto crushers, an extensive truck and rail car fleet, landfill services and rail car dismantling.
But all the combined horsepower of our equipment isn’t what keeps the lights on. Our success comes directly from our people. That’s what we mean when we say People Powered Recycling.
The safety of our employees is non-negotiable, and we are constantly striving to create the safest possible conditions and a culture of safety excellence. Priorities can change; core values do not.
IHS Metal Recycling continually reinvests in our workforce and seeks to support them both on and off the job. As a privately-owned company, we are not beholden to shareholders, and that lets us put our employees' welfare over the demand for profit.
Without the communities that support us by selling their recyclable metals and electronics to us, we could not exist. IHS Metal Recycling provides material and financial support to a number of local causes, events, and organizations that are important to our employees.
“My leaders here at IHS Metal Recycling always inspire me and make me want to do my very best for them. I’m treated like family.”
